TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

While Tucson's gem and mineral shows are not scheduled to start for another week or so, vendors are already arriving in town.

The biggest show will take place at the Tucson Convention Center, and vendors for this show have already begun to set up shop.

Local hotels are already reporting their bookings for late January and February, for many this is their busiest time of the year.

Riverpark Inn, where the Pueblo Gem and Mineral show is scheduled to take place, has said its rooms are booked for vendors and that they plan to sell out of all 174 rooms.

Days Inn is reporting they expect to be 95 percent booked by the end of today.

The City of Tucson is expecting some $100 million to be pumped into the local economy with the 2014 gem show ‘season.'

The Downtown Tucson Partnership still needs volunteer guides to help welcome vendors and visitors.  Training will be held at noon today, and 6 p.m. Wednesday.  For those interested in volunteering please contact Brandi Haga at brandi@downtowntucson.org.
