A sizzling January

Posted: Updated:

It would normally be unusual to post a story involving warm and dry weather conditions this time of the month (as it is not yet over), but as no surprise to anyone we have seen some HOT and DRY weather this year. January 2014 will go down as one of warmest Januarys ever, and one of the driest months ever.

So far Tucson (TIA) has seen a trace of rain this year and that fell on January 25th. When we look at those temperatures the warmest so far has been back on January 19th when the mercury hit 79°, the coolest was freezing (32°) on the 6th.

To be the bearer of bad news, we will end the month warm and dry. 2014 so far has been a far cry from 2013. Last year we were well below normal for temperatures and close to the average amount of rain. Below is a January review for cities around the state.
