Montgomery Public Schools and the many other school districts in Alabama that have missed multiple days due to winter weather will likely not have to make those days up.
Gov. Robert Bentley signed a law several years ago that allows schools to apply to be relieved of making up missed days when a state of emergency has been issued.
Gov. Bentley declared a state of emergency this week for the entire state due to the winter storm that hit the state Tuesday.
MPS officials say the district will likely not have to make up the three missed school days from this week.
