CDO holding event to recruit new Pink Dorado team members

CDO High School is hosting a breast cancer awareness event during the Girls Basketball games on Friday night.

Spirit Clinics will be held to help promote CDO's award winning ‘Pink Dorados' team, and to register additional team members for the 2014 walk. 

This will be the fourth year that the ‘Pink Dorados' are joining together to participate in the 2014 Southern Arizona Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.   Pink Dorados are a group of primarily CDO students and their families that have banded together to walk as a team. 

For the last two years the Pink Dorados have won the High School Challenge for having the most team members and raising the most money in additional donations for the Cure.  Each year the Pink Dorados has had more than 150 members and raised more than $3,500 in donations. 

WHEN: Friday January 31 - Girls Basketball Game CDO vs. Catalina Foothills HS; Freshman Game at  4 p.m.; JV at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m.; Spirit Clinic 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. (Halftime Performance of Varsity Game)

WHERE: Canyon Del Oro High School Lanny Williams Memorial Gymnasium; 25 W. Calle Concordia Oro Valley 85704 (Calle Concordia just west of Oracle Rd)

The CDO Basketball Teams will wear pink accessories as part of their uniforms and fans are encouraged to wear pink. The Cheer Clinic Participants will perform a special routine at halftime of the Varsity Game that you won't want to miss. A hundred young cheerleaders with Pink Pom Poms performing a routine that they learned on the spot from the award winning CDO Spirit Line.

This year the Race for the Cure will be on March 30, at the University of Arizona.
