Pima County starts ADA improvements on Ruthrauff Road

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Crews from Borderland Construction and Pima County Department of Transportation began work yesterday on improvements on Ruthrauff Rd. from La Cholla Blvd. to Highway Dr./Davis Rd.  These new improvements will be in line with the Americans with Disability Act. 

Work on cutting the curbs in 24 locations to install handicap ramps is expected to last until the end of February; working hours will be from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.  Lane restrictions will be in place while crews are working. 

Drivers are asked to use caution when crews are working and to obey all traffic control devices.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
