TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Arizona and Western Union are expanding their efforts to fight money laundering.

Western Union was under legal scrutiny in Arizona a few years ago as state investigators cracked down on money transfers involving human traffickers and drug smugglers.

Now the state Attorney General's Office says an amended settlement will provide a model for the entire money services industry.

The Department of Homeland Security is also working with Western Union on a program to make employees aware of the signs of human trafficking and money laundering transactions.
