WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

Monday night Wetumpka High School students honored their classmate who died over the weekend.

Students packed the gym for the school's basketball game dressed in pink to remember Jody Sanford.

The Wetumpka boys and girls both won their games against Elmore County. The girls won 58-32 and the boys won 58-44.

Friends said pink reminds them of Jody because she brightened up a room. Jody was a tenth grade student at the school.

"I think she would like it. I think she would like that we are coming out to support her. She wouldn't want us to be sad, she would want us to smile. That's just the person she was," Marissa Campbell said.

A visitation for Jody is scheduled for Wednesday. Funeral arrangements are Thursday.

For the first time, shopper in America are likely to make more purchases on line than in brick and mortar stores. It's a shift which has been coming for years but this is likely to be the first time it's crossed the threshold. While the effect on big retailers can be mitigated somewhat by on line offerings, it's not quite as easy on smaller, local stores.
