TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson has reached the halfway point for the Modern Streetcar project, with the arrival of the fourth streetcar.

Number four just rolled into Tucson from Oregon, early this morning.  Testing will begin right away on the fourth streetcar, just as it did with the first three.

According to officials with the City, once all the streetcars are on the line, it will be able to take 180 riders along the four mile route. The project cost the City an estimated $200 million.

Streetcar number five is scheduled to arrive in March with the eighth car arriving in May. If testing goes as planned and the cars arrive on time residents could be riding the new streetcars by this summer.
