PHOENIX, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Department of Education has released AZ Dash for public use.

AZ Dash is a new website that offers a ‘report card' for all the schools in Arizona.

"As a longtime champion of school choice in Arizona, I realize how important it is for parents to have access to meaningful information about their local schools," said Superintendent Huppenthal, in today's news release.

Visitors to the new website will be able to search for schools or districts by name or via an interactive map that provides results based on an address, ZIP code, town or city. School and district overview pages also contain the 2013 A-F Letter Grades, total enrollment, grades served, administrator names, and contact information, including a map of the school's location. Detailed AIMS results are also available, with charts that show performance broken down by grade level, subject, and student details.

"This new website will help them better understand how schools are performing, so that they can make informed decisions and find the right school for their children. I am excited that such a valuable resource is now available for parents to use and explore," said Huppenthal.

Future updates on the website will include detailed accountability measures, as well as information about staff and student populations.
