TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Fans of the Budweiser Clydesdales will have three more opportunities to see the world famous hitch today and this weekend.

These Southern Arizona appearances are among the hundreds the famous Clydesdales will make in 2014.  The following are times and locations of the remaining appearances the hitch will make in Tucson.

-Friday, Feb. 7 – Single Horse Show Tucson Mall (220 W. Wetmore Rd.)  from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

-Saturday, Feb. 8  & Sunday, Feb. 9 - Rillito Park Horse races (4502 N. First Ave.) from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Each of these horses has been specially bred, and must be at least three years old, 18 hands (six feet) at the shoulder and weigh an average of 2,000 pounds as well as be bay in color, have four white legs and a white blaze on their face, with a gentle disposition – all in order to even be considered for use in the eight-horse hitch.

Included with the hitch is a spotted Dalmatian, which in the early days were bred and trained to protect the horses and guard the wagon while the driver made deliveries.
