TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

TODAY'S MOST...Surprising Criminal Charge: A 16-year old girl faces felony child porn charges, after she posted naked photos of herself on Twitter.

The police in James City County, Virginia say the girl apparently also sent the pictures directly to a boy she wanted to impress. Once police found out about the pictures, they confiscated the girl's phone. The girl admitted she'd taken and sent the pictures, and then police charged with her with one count of "possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography." Police say the reason she was charged with child porn was that the pictures were so graphic.

Some parents in the area think she shouldn't have been charged criminally, since she's a child herself. The police say it's possible the girl and her parents would be able to go into a diversion program, but the child porn charge could result in jail time.
