TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Quarter horses will be back this weekend at the historic Rillito Park Race Track.
But will this be the last season for horse racing at the track?
The Pima County Horseman's Association would like to keep running horses at the historic track near River Road and First Avenue.
Pima County has stated they will meet with the Horseman's Association at the end of February or early March to discuss a deal for next year.
The county wants to move the barns and stables to the east end of the park, a proposal the Horseman's Association does not like. The association stated the move would eliminate half of the available parking spaces.
Racing will continue for 2014, with the quarter horse post time at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Visitors to the track will see at least eight live races each day. The 2014 season will continue until the first weekend of March.
