DOUGLAS, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol canine helped agents find marijuana hidden in a truck, trying to cross into the U.S.

According to a CBP release the find happened Wednesday Feb. 5, at the Port of Douglas.  Victor Manuel Tarango-Nunez, a Mexican citizen was attempting to drive across the border into the U.S. when the canine alerted agents to possible drugs, reported the CBP release. 

Agents then pulled the vehicle aside for a further search, finding marijuana hidden throughout the truck.

More than 295 pounds of drugs, in 170 bundles were found, with a value of $147,500.  Both the drugs and vehicle were seized and Tarango-Nunez was referred to ICE/HSI for processing.
