TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Rural Metro Fire crews are headed to a car crash involving multiple vehicles near Nogales Highway and Lumber Street, north of Pima Mine Road.

Officials said there were five patients, though three of them refused to be taken to the hospital. The severity of their injuries was unknown.

One person is being extricated and will be taken by air ambulance to the UAMC Trauma Center.

Authorities ask drivers to avoid the area.
