TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Motorists can now shorten their lobby wait time at the Motor Vehicle Division with the help of a computer system upgrade that allows the public to check the department's schedule online.

The Arizona Department of Transportation website has a new feature that lets customers view the approximate wait time at most MVD offices in Arizona.

The office hours and locations page of the Motor Vehicle Services section of shows the estimated wait time and the number of customers waiting for driver license and title transactions. The times are updated every five minutes and measured from the time a customer receives a service ticket to the time the customer begins their transaction at a window.

MVD officials said the average wait time for common transactions range from 15 to 45 minutes.
