TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Motorists can now shorten their lobby wait time at the Motor Vehicle Division with the help of a computer system upgrade that allows the public to check the department's schedule online.

The Arizona Department of Transportation website has a new feature that lets customers view the approximate wait time at most MVD offices in Arizona.

The office hours and locations page of the Motor Vehicle Services section of azdot.gov/mvd shows the estimated wait time and the number of customers waiting for driver license and title transactions. The times are updated every five minutes and measured from the time a customer receives a service ticket to the time the customer begins their transaction at a window.

MVD officials said the average wait time for common transactions range from 15 to 45 minutes.
