    Firefighters are battling flames after a brief lightning storm near Elgin ignited several fires that combined into one on Saturday afternoon, according to Sonoita Fire Department PIO Katie Goodwin. Sonoita
    600 acres outside of Elgin have burned. Sonoita Fire Department is on the scene and more units are on their way.
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Southeast Arizona temperatures broke record highs over the weekend.  

Tucson set a new record high of 88° on Saturday. 

This broke the old record by 3° set in 1957. 

On Sunday, Tucson matched the record high of 85° last seen in 1994.

The Bisbee-Douglas Airport also set records this weekend with a high of 85° on Saturday and 83° on Sunday.

The old record high at the airport on Saturday was 79° and on Sunday 80°, both set in 2011.  

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument also set a record high on Saturday, topping out at 91°. 

This temperature was 6° above the old record of 85° set in 2000.

On Monday a high of 86° beat the old record by 3° set just 10 years ago.
