TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two people escaped unharmed from a tractor-trailer accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 10 east of Tucson.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, one eastbound lane was closed at milepost 286.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened just before 6:30 a.m. The eastbound truck loaded with oranges rolled onto its side in the median at milepost 286.6, east of Davidson Canyon.

The driver told a DPS investigator that he fell asleep before the accident.

The truck traveled about 15 feet into the 75 foot-wide median, the DPS said.

The 44,000-pound load of oranges remained within the trailer.
