TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A court hearing took place today for a University of Arizona Police officer charged with super-extreme drunk driving while on-duty.

Sergeant John McGrath didn't have to go to court for today's hearing, but his lawyer was there and the judge set the next hearing for March 24.

McGrath was charged with a wreck on Feb. 1 when he crashed his patrol car into a wall on frontage road off Interstate 10 and Speedway.

Police said he had a blood alcohol level 2.5 times the legal limit.

The UAPD continues it's investigation using the GPS in McGrath's vehicle, among other things, to find out where he went during his shift and who he might have talked to.

McGrath remains suspended with pay.
