TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pinal County officials arrested an inmate who escaped from the county jail.

Sheriff's department officials said Joseph Andrew Dekenipp, 40, escaped from the rec yard over a 12-foot-tall wall with razor wire around 4 p.m. Friday.

Officials said he had serious cuts and K-9s tracked his scent to a nearby roadway. Officials believe he might have left in a vehicle driven by another person.

He was found in Coolidge and taken into custody without incident. Officials said he will be taken back to the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and will face escape charges.

The sheriff's office said Dekenipp was originally booked into the jail on Jan. 10 on charges of theft of means of transportation, trafficking in stolen property, unlawful flight, theft and driving on a suspended license. He was held on a $5,000 bond and was due next in court on Feb. 25 for a pretrial conference.
