A teen has been rescued from a storm drain near 49th Avenue and Union Hills in Phoenix.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Capt. Ruben Saavedra said the 16-year-old had been stuck since 10 a.m. Sunday.
He asked neighbors for help but didn't want police there in fear of getting in trouble. When firefighters from Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria and Scottsdale started the rescue process about 6:30 p.m., he found his way out, exiting a few blocks north.
The teen said he went into the storm drain but would not explain why, according to Phoenix fire.
He was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
