TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Authorities are investigating a rollover that killed one passenger and left two in critical condition.

Sierra Vista police said Jeremiah Marshall, 30, lost control of his vehicle when driving fast north of North Canyon Drive just after 8:30 p.m. Monday. He and two others were thrown from the car as it rolled over, according to a news release. The car landed near North Canyon Drive and Theater Drive where it hit a wooden utility pole.

EMS personnel tried to save passenger Karen Peercy, 41, at the scene but she was later pronounced dead at the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center.

A young child in the vehicle and Marshall were flown by helicopter to a Tucson medical facility where they are listed in critical condition.

Officials said the passengers might not have been wearing seatbelts and alcohol could have been a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
