TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Authorities arrested a child sex crime suspect in midtown Tuesday when he went to meet up with his "date," who was really an undercover officer.

Investigators determined Roy Combs, 30, allegedly used a social networking website to solicit minors for sex, Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department said.

Combs believed he was communicating with an under aged person online and allegedly planned to meet with that person for sexual purposes at a midtown location on Feb. 18. He arrived on scene and TPD, along with U.S. Marshals, arrested him without incident.

Police booked Combs into the Pima County Jail on charges of aggravated luring a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Tucson Police ask the public to monitor their children's social media account connections for safety purposes.
