COLLEGE STATION, TX (RNN) - After a playing a close game in the first half, Texas A&M eventually pulled away in the second, beating Alabama 63-48 at home on Thursday.

The Aggies (15-11, 6-7 SEC) held only a one-point lead at halftime over the Crimson Tide (10-16, 4-9) but started to pull away four minutes into the second half. Texas A&M increased its lead to as many as 18 points, aided by their superior shooting and 19 assists.

Jamal Jones led Texas A&M with 19 points. Alex Caruso added 14 points.

Trevor Releford led Alabama with 20 points. Shannon Hale added 12 points and led with nine rebounds and three assists.

The game marked a second straight loss for the Tide, which have not won a road game this season. They will return home to host Missouri on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The Aggies will remain at home to host Tennessee on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
