Game and Fish announces 13th bighorn death

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Another bighorn sheep has died in the Santa Catalina Mountains, according to the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Thirty-one bighorn sheep were reintroduced to the area in November. This is the 13th death reported.

According to Game and Fish, the cause of death for the ram is predation by mountain lion.

This news comes three days after the announcement of another death and the discovery of a third lamb born to one of the ewes.

    U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales arrested a man from Mexico, in connection with a failed attempt to smuggle almost 270 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States on Wednesday, April 25.
