Robbery suspect hides pants in bushes

Phillip Pomeroy has been arrested and charged with attempted aggravated robbery and parole violation.

Police say the 57-year-old tried to rob the Walgreens store at 1081 Murfreesboro Pike early Saturday morning.

Pomeroy allegedly tried to rob the cashier of cigarettes at knife point.

Authorities located Pomeroy in the area after reviewing the store's surveillance recordings.

Except for his pants, Pomeroy matched the physical description of the suspect captured on camera.

Officers discovered the pants Pomeroy had discarded behind bushes outside a nearby building.

Pomeroy is a convicted felon who previously served time in the state penitentiary for armed robbery.
