TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Students and faculty at Pueblo Magnet High School learned on Tuesday afternoon that they were the grand prize winners of the Bookman's School Challenge.

The high school will receive $15,000 to help finish off its cyber café, called 'Si Se Puede Café'.  According to a TUSD release the school was able to purchase 15 computers for the café last year, but the room the computers were in was unfinished and lacked furnishings.

Bookman's School Challenge was a statewide contest designed to 'highlight positive things happening in Arizona's schools', according to the release.  There were three phases to the contest - an application, a video submission with Facebook voting and a school visit.

Pueblo Principal Vivi Watt thinks several factors helped the school win the grand prize - need and the involvement of the community.

"They've been to other schools were administrators do the tours," Watt said. "Here, our students took them around and alumni were here."

Another local winner was Safford K-8 Magnet International Baccalaureate World School, which received $3,000 for being a finalist.
