    The Tucson Police Department is working a shooting that happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Edith and Flower Street, according to Sgt. Kim Bay, spokeswoman with the Tucson Police Department.

Sierra Vista Police seek a person of interest after authorities arrested aTucson man in connection with an assault and armed robbery at a motel on March3.

Authorities determined Donald Joseph Arteaga, 25, met a woman in Tucsonand asked her to go with him to a Motel 6 while he worked a construction joblaying tiles in Sierra Vista.

The woman later told authorities she prostituted herself to another motelguest and gave Arteaga part of the profits. She said when Arteaga came backfrom work on March 3, he accused her and the man of stealing the money while hewas gone. He then allegedly beat the man and forced them to take off theirclothes while threatening them with a knife, according to a news release.Police said he also choked and sexually assaulted the woman.

The woman escaped and called police.

Arteaga and his friend "Ray," later identified as Raymond JosephRamirez, fled the scene before officers arrived.

Authorities found Arteaga at a nearby motel and booked him into the CochiseCounty Jail on two charges each of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravatedassault and sexual assault. He was also charged with one count of receivingearnings for prostitution and procurement of prostitution.

Investigators seek Ramirez for questioning. Anyone with information is urgedto call the Sierra Vista Police Department at (520) 452-7500.

    More than a million dollars in grant money paid for the office to partner with the Tucson Police Department to process approximately 1,200 rape kits. Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall said close to 400 kits have been tested so far, with 61 of those connecting to someone in a national database.
