TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Happening later today, the family of Raquel Barreras will speak for the first time after their daughter was arrested.

Homicide Survivors will be holding a press conference downtown at the Legal Services building, where Barreras' family will be speaking out. Barreras was the mother of the 3-year-old whose remains were found inside a toy chest.

According to Tucson Police the landlord of the property had found the remains of the boy in the back yard of the home the family had been renting on Tucson's south side.

There were four other children, in addition to the 3-year-old who lived in the home, ranging in age from 19, 12, 7 and 4 years old.  TPD has said they visited the home previously, with the last visit in November 2012 after the children's school reported them absent without an explanation.  According to TPD there was no evidence of abuse at that time; currently the three younger children are in CPS custody.

The press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m.
