Park officials: Texas man dies in Grand Canyon fall

GRAND CANYON NP, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The National Park Service and the CoconinoCounty Medical Examiner are investigating the death of a visitor at the SouthRim of Grand Canyon National Park.

Park officials said 53-year-old JohnAnderson, of Grapevine, Texas, fell about 350 feet off the rim near El TovarLodge around 8 a.m. on Saturday.

He was visiting the park with family.

Rangers located Anderson and attempted toresuscitate him but were unsuccessful, officials said.
