    September is National Preparedness Month and officials are giving a list of the basics that the public should always have on hand in case of an emergency. Always have water, a battery powered flashlight and a first aid kit and have them on hand before an emergency hits.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Humane Society ofSouthern Arizona has a sweet adoption deal for its pets at all shelter locations in support of the University of Arizona Wildcats' advancement in the NCAA tournament.

It is offering a "Sweet and Fluffy 16" adoption special until March 30 at the main shelter, both offsite PAWSH locations at Park Place and LaEncantada malls, PetSmart at I-19 and Irvington and PetSmart at River and OrangeGrove, shelter officials said.

All dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will have a $16 adoption fee, with an additional $16 licensing fee for dogs three monthsand older.

They will all go home vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped, and the cost includes a free health and wellnessvisit.

The HSSA currently has approximately 380homeless pets in its shelters.
