Salpointe names Chuck Cecil Humanitarian Award recipient

Salpointe Catholic High School has chosen this year's ChuckCecil Humanitarian Award recipient.

Roger Canchola was named at Salpointe's annual Willie KaneMemorial Golf Tournament.  The award wascreated in 2006 to honor Chuck and Carrie Cecil's friend Willie Kane, whopassed away in 2006, and is presented every year to an Arizonan whose time,work and life serve as a role model of caring and giving to others, accordingto a recent release.

Canchola is known for following in the footsteps of hisfather, José Canchola, the late Tucson businessman and philanthropist. He is astrong supporter of economic development and believes in giving back to the communityin support of local schools and businesses.

"Roger Canchola is one of those people you have toadmire. He sports a ‘can do' attitude, he dearly loves his family, and he makesyou feel like you are his best friend," says Kay Sullivan, Salpointe President,in a recent release. "A quiet philanthropist, he honors the individual dignityof each and every person with kindness and respect. Roger Canchola is mostdeserving of the Chuck Cecil Humanitarian Award and Salpointe Catholic ispleased to present him with this high honor."

Canchola is a past member of Salpointe's Board of Directorsand a current board member of the Salpointe Catholic Education Foundation. Heand his wife, Raquel, are proud parents of Luis '09, Nicholas '17 andfuture lancer Vicente '21.
