TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two well-know Tucson attorneys, who are also immigration experts will answer the public's questions about what is next for children brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents.

"What's next for Dreamers", a lecture and question and answer session will take place today at Pima Community College's East from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The lecture and Q&A will be hosted by attorneys Margo Cowan and Isabel Garcia. Cowan is a veteran attorney who was one of the attorneys who represented the 'Dream 9', she also co-founded No More Deaths. Garcia is a long time immigrant advocate and board member of Coalicion de Derechos Humanos.

Many may remember in 2013, the case involving the 'Dream 9; were released after spending more than two weeks in federal custody, after trying to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. in protest to immigration policy.

'Dreamers' is a term adopted by immigrants rights advocates, and refers to children who grew up in the U.S., but were brought here illegally by their parents.

The Dream Act is proposed legislation that could give these same 'dreamers' a path to citizenship by serving in the U.S. armed forces or pursuing a higher education.
