Travel restricted on two roads due to water valve replacement

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Watervalve work will affect travel in two areas of Tucson starting this weekend, according to a Tucson Water release.

Travelon westbound 22nd near Beverly Ave. may be restricted, this Saturday, March 29due to the replacement of a 24" water valve.  Work is scheduled to run until April 1. 

Thework area is on 22nd between Rosemont Ave. and Craycroft Rd.  This replacement is being done in advance ofmilling and paving work for 22nd St.

Asecond area near Alvernon Way and Technical Drive will also be closed totraffic, to replace two 66" water valves. Work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 31 and be finishedby Friday, April 4. 

TechnicalDrive west of Alvernon Way and south of 36th St., signs will be in place andtraffic will be detoured to Aviation Highway. 

Driversare asked to obey speed limits and to use caution when driving through the areato help ensure the safety of the workers.
