RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Six Richmond hot spots made a new list of 30 places in Virginia to eat before you die.

The list, compiled by the Virginian-Pilot, was put together in just 16 weeks and criss-crosses the state for a new book, the "Food Lover's Guide to Virginia." The authors say they packed a number of eateries in any given night, including a gastronomical episode in Richmond that included "a beer at the Capital Ale House, an appetizer at the Rappahannock Restaurant, dinner at Edo's Squid and a nightcap at Joe's Inn."

The six Richmond spots on the list are Aziza's on Main, The Roosevelt, Edo's Squid, Kuba Kuba, Lemaire and Belmont Butchery.

The list leaves out Northern Virginia, which is pat of the D.C. edition of the book series.
