TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona gathers donations during the holidays by 'Stuffing the Bus', and in the spring the University of Arizona wants to make sure the spirit of giving continues with 'Stuff the Cat Tran.'

Cat Tran will be parked on the U of A campus at Cherry and University, with the goal of filling it up with much needed items for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

This will be the sixth year the campus has hosted a 'Stuff the Cat Tran' event.

The UA Staff Advisory Council, Parking and Transportation and UA Community Relations have teamed up with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona to make sure this event goes off without a hitch.

Stuff the Cat Tran is part of the 2014 UA 4 Food campus wide food drive, that brings students, staff and faculty together to help benefit the Community Food Bank's hunger relief programs.

Some of the items the food bank is in need of include - cereal, canned meats and canned vegetables.  Also accepted at the Stuff the Cat Tran event will be monetary donations.  For those who are not able to walk up to the Cat Tran, there will be a drive through drop off location on the U of A Mall.

This is not just for UA students and staff to donate, everyone in the community is asked to come out and contribute what they can.

U of A President, Ann Weaver Hart is expected to stop by the Cat Tran event during lunch, to drop off donations and UA Woman's Head Soccer Coach, Tony Amato is also expected during the day to help collect donations.

Stuff the Cat Tran is happening today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
