The University's Never Settle initiative aims to raise $1 billion to advance the land-grant mission, stimulate the state's economy and better prepare students upon graduation, according to a news release.

The campaign kickoff will take place at 2 p.m. on campus, including talks and tours. The Interactive Expo of Excellence will be included, held on the UA Mall just east of Old Main, starting at 4:30 p.m. The expo is set to feature 30 booths, touting displays ranging from driverless cars to poetry.

UA President Ann Weaver Hart expressed  her excitement about the campaign, which she hopes will be of great benefit to students.

"The University of Arizona is looking toward the future," Hart said. "We need to provide a world-class education to our students and make sure they get real-world experience outside the classroom. When they graduate,we want them to be fully prepared to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead."

The campaign is the first comprehensive university campaign fromUA since the end of Campaign Arizona, which also had a $1 billion goal.

"This is an exciting time for the University of Arizona,"said James H. Moore Jr., president and CEO of the UA Foundation. "Because our fundraising goals are linked to the University's strategic plan, this campaign will be far-reaching impact on the future of the University."
