TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Professional baseball is not gone from Tucson entirely.  The Freedom Pro Baseball league might soon be calling Tucson home.

Not only could they soon call Tucson home, the League is also looking for baseball players. Tryouts are happening at the Kino Sports Complex.  They started on Sunday, April 6 and are expected to continue until this Saturday, April 12.

The independent league is looking to add 70 players to the team's roster for the upcoming season that begins on May 31.  This will be the third year the league has been active.

Those interested in trying out, organizers are looking for players between the ages of 20 to 27 years old that still have a dream of playing professional baseball.

League organizers say they have had a number of players from their league get invited to spring training with major baseball teams.

Tryouts are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kino Sports Complex and will run until Saturday.
