Ursuline Academy students on Wednesday conducted its largest spirit week project -- a canned food drive— with scheduled deliveries to agencies who serve those in need.
For weeks, the students competed with each other to see which class can bring in the most canned goods that will be donated to Mercy Home Food Pantry in Walnut Hills, Mason Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul, and Hope Emergency in Brown County.
The cans will be delivered to the agencies later in the week.
During this week, Ursuline is celebrating its annual spirit week — a school-wide effort to show pride in being an Ursuline Lion and to share that sense of unity with the community.
In addition to many activities during the week, the students' other charitable efforts include cashing in pop tabs they collected all year and giving the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House; and a Penny Race and Spirit Walk which both benefit a scholarship fund for future young women to attend Ursuline.
Ursuline Academy is an independent Catholic college-preparatory school for young women in grades 9 –12. Founded in 1896 by the Ursulines of Brown County in St. Martin, Ohio, the school has been located at 5535 Pfeiffer Road in Blue Ash since 1970.
