TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –Firefighters faced several obstacles while tackling a mobile home fire in midtown Tucson.

The Tucson Fire Department says they were called out just before midnight Thursday on Prince near Stone. TFD says the home was about 50% engulfed in flames when they arrived. Firefighters were pulling hoses when an overhead power line came down, and flames were getting close to a gas meter.

TFD kept the fire from jumping to other homes, but three people living in that home had to find another place to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Fire Chief Joseph De Wolf with Sonoita-Elgin Fire District said the rain was a relief but not a reason to relax, as fire season starts to heat up in southern Arizona. He said conditions are monitored daily because they could change just as quickly.
