A man who suffered obvious physical harm before his death was found in an apartment on the southeast side Monday afternoon. Police said little about the case Monday night.
"I hope it doesn't happen again. No one likes to live around somewhere where someone gets murdered," said apartment complex resident Brad Porterfield.
A man found dead in one of the apartments of Summit Ridge apartments near the intersection of Craycroft Road and 22nd Street surprised the residents there Monday. Several residents said that the management was inspecting apartments Monday, and police said that management called them about the body. Police checked the apartment, secured it, and then waited for a warrant to further investigate. They interviewed residents, and some worried about where the killer could be now.
"It's a little bit scary, because if nobody knew that he was in there, it makes you wonder how that person could have been to get in there or if it could have been a friend or who it could have been. And, if they could be still walking around, it could actually be somebody in the complex or somebody around this area, you can't trust anybody," said complex resident Stephanie Garcia.
