TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

You have a chance to help a local museum win some valuable grant money.

The Jimmie Johnson Foundation says the Tucson Museum of Art is one of the 10 semi-finalists eligible for a $25,000 grant. In all, five grants are available through the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope program.

You can vote April 17 through April 24 to determine the five grant winners by going to http://www.helmetofhope.org.

The Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope program, which began in 2008, allows fans and consumers across the country to nominate non-profit organizations that support K-12 public education.

The Tucson Museum of Art was nominated for theMuseum's exceptional work with local schools including Imago Dei School and Davis Bilingual Middle School. The Museum has previously been honored for innovation excellence by the Center for the Future of Museums for educational programs like Museum as Sanctuary, recently covered on BBC Worldwide.  The Tucson Museum of Art provides bus subsidies to schools wishing to visit the Museum and free in-school workshops as well, reaching tens of thousands of students a year.

In addition to a $25,000 grant, winners get a Blue Bunny ice cream party and special recognition on Johnson's race helmet during the Sprint Cup Series race July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

To date, the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope program has contributed more than $560,000 to 71 different charities.
