All Things Agave at the 6th Annual Agave Fest

TUCSON, AZ (April 7, 2014) –Make your Tequila connection at the 6th Annual Agave Fest presented by Hotel Congress and Milagro Tequila. Tickets are only $40 in advance and Agave aficionados, ages 21 and over, should choose wisely with their twelve tasting tickets since they have access to over fifty spirit selections, spanning multiple grades and expressions of the agave plant.  The possibilities and creations are endless, so distillery representatives are providing their pouring skills and product knowledge to help attendees make the best use of their tasting tickets. Tickets to the Agave Fest are limited and sell out fast, so grab you're scorpion lollipop and plan to party at Hotel Congress from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 2.

Agave lovers will receive a commemorative souvenir Milagro Tequila shot glass, a vote for "Best Tequila Cocktail" created by eight of Tucson's outstanding bartenders, a live musical performance and noshing benefits at the specialty taco and a salsa bar provided by the award-winning Cup Café. Guests can also make a night of it and take advantage of the special room packages, starting at $209 before taxes, which include two tickets to the event, a hangover recovery kit, and Agave Fest memorabilia.

The event isn't just for experts, novice drinkers are welcome and any event ticket holder can brush up on their tasting skills at "Agave 101", a free 45-minute special event tasting at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd at Hotel Congress.  The seminar is a primer for the major agave spirits served at the festival: Bacanora from Sonora, Sotol from Chihuahua, Mezcal from Oaxaca and Tequila from Jalisco.
