3 killed in dirt bike vs. motorcycle crash

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Three people were killed in an accident involving a dirt bike and a motorcycle late Friday night in Exeter Township, Michigan.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Doty Road, north of Zink Road.

Deputies say 23-year-old Marc Thompson, of Monroe, drove his dirt bike left of center, colliding head on with a motorcycle driven by 18-year-old Darin Lipkowski, of Maybee, Michigan.

Thompson and 21-year-old passenger Chelsie Little, of Monroe, were thrown from the dirt bike.

Lipkowski and his passenger, 18-year-old Samantha Morlan, of Monroe, were also thrown from their motorcycle.

Both drivers, Thompson and Lipkowski, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Little was transported from the crash scene to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries.

Morlan was listed in temporary-serious condition as of Saturday.

Deputies say it appears both female passengers were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, but neither of the male drivers had on helmets.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-240-7508.
