New driving statistics on Arizona highway crashes

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Department of Public Safety has new information for you on driving statistics.

Between November and April, there were more than ten thousand crashes on Arizona highways.

DPS said more than 11 percent of the crashes were related to distracted driving. 

Officials said 380 people were hurt in distracted driving crashes and ten people were killed.

Cell phone use was behind 127 of the crashes. Distractions outside the car caused 255 crashes, while drivers reaching for objects in the car caused 130.
