TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Tucson man faces several drug charges after drugs, money and a weapon were seized from his vehicle during a traffic stop.

A Pinal County Sheriff's deputy stopped a Saturn passenger car on April 14 on Interstate 10 near mile post 192, outside Casa Grande city limits, when he noticed the window tint was too dark, according to a news release.

Officials said the driver, identified as 47-year-old Jose Real, had a rolled up one dollar bill on his lap and a white, powdery substance on his shirt and baseball hat. A digital scale commonly involved with narcotics distribution was visible on the car floorboard, according to the deputy. The deputy asked Real if he used cocaine and Real reportedly told him he snorted some earlier and admitted there was a little bit of cocaine inside the vehicle, the release stated.

Authorities booked Real into the Pinal County Jail and a search of the vehicle uncovered 1.1 ounces of cocaine, .6 ounces of methamphetamine, 17 grams of marijuana, five marijuana pipes, one methamphetamine pipe, one Ruger 9mm handgun, 2 scales and $2,011. The money and drugs were seized.

"Jose tried to claim the drugs found inside of the vehicle were not his, but evidently he must have forgotten his vehicle registration and insurance were inside of this same bag," Sheriff Paul Babeu stated.

Real was charged with possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of marijuana for sale and misconduct involving a weapon. Impaired driving charges are pending on drug test results.
