TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested three Arizonans and seized more than $600,000 in drugs found in motor homes in separate drug-smuggling busts at the Port of Lukeville.

Officers first stopped a motor home on Sunday for inspection and found 27 packages of marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle, estimated to be worth more than $287,000, according to a news release. The driver, 51-year-old Teddy Dwayne Scamp, and passenger Margaret Jean Lins, 38, both of Buckeye, were referred to ICE.

CBP later referred 56-year-old Herbert Medcalf, of Phoenix, to further inspect his RV, where officers found 697 pounds of marijuana worth approximately $348,000, the release stated.

Authorities seized the drugs and motor homes and referred Scamp, Lins and Medcalf to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
