Brown Canyon, which had been closed because of firefighting activity in the Huachuca Mountains, reopened today.

Crews continue to mop up at the Brown Fire near Sierra Vista.

The fire burned 240 acres, but is now 97 percent contained.

Investigators say the fire was started by humans, but they have not determined the exact cause.

    The San Juan Fire straddling the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in the White Mountains continues to expand, but so does containment.
    Crews are working to restore the 1,220 acres in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest that were damaged by the San Juan Fire earlier this summer.

    The lightning caused wildfire, in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson, has burned 1,097 acres according to National Park Service officials. It is now at 75 percent contained, said officials and out-of-state fire crews are leaving the wildfire area.
