TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police have identified the woman who was found dead inside a house on Tucson's south side on Wednesday night.

According to police, 50-year-old Carol Straub was found around 11:30 p.m. by her boyfriend in the 1300 block of East 28th Street, with obvious signs of trauma.

Police say the man told officers he found his girlfriend dead upon arriving home. No new details have been released yet.

"The only person that we know has any idea what happened here and that's going to be the boyfriend, but rest assured we will be canvassing the area and examining evidence at the scene to determine what exactly happened," said Sgt. Chris Widmer, TPD public information officer.

Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances that lead to Straub's death. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
