NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Drug smugglers continue to hide their illegal cargo inside vehicles, but Customs and Border Protection officers keep finding it.

On Thursday, officers at the Mariposa Crossing took a closer look at a Toyota sedan, and a drug dog sniffed out 10 packages of methamphetamine inside the trunk.  The meth is worth an estimated $65,000.

That same day, at the same crossing, a K9 officer detected drugs within the valve cover on the engine of a tractor-trailer.  Officers found six packages of heroin worth $225,000.

Both people in both vehicles were arrested.
