PEORIA, AZ (CBS5) -
Thanks to a coordinated effort between a Liberty High School teacher and local radio station KMLE Country, sophomore Bailey Kleinhans received an invitation to a Brad Paisley concert - from Brad himself.
It all started with physical education teacher Jessi Jones sending a video to KMLE Country's Facebook page, introducing Kleinhans as a huge Brad Paisley fan.
"It would mean so much to Bailey to be able to see his all-time favorite country artist in concert for the first time," Jones said in her video.
Kleinhans is a special ed student in Jones' unified sports class, where special ed and general ed students learn and work together.
And at a school assembly in April, Kleinhans received a special invitation.
"Hi Bailey, this is Brad Paisley. I watched the video of you singing my songs. I've heard all about you and can't wait to meet you so what I want to do is invite you, on July 13, to my concert in Phoenix, which is going to be at the amphitheater there. Please come see me, let's hang out, I can't wait to meet you, and I want to hear you sing my songs in person."
"I have like a like 103 Brad Paisley songs on my iPod," a smiling Kleinhans said.
"The video is so genuine. And he not only gives tickets, but invites him to hang out with him. Like, he's going to go hang out with Brad Paisley. How awesome is that?" said KMLE morning personality Nina D.
Paisley's concert in Phoenix ended up getting canceled, but that didn't stop him from making Kleinhans day. He flew Kleinhans to California for one of his events and a meet-and-greet.
